Rygin King Recovers After Shooting, Announces “Dancehall Trap” Album

Rygin King is hitting the studio hard, just five months after he was shot and injured.

The Montego Bay-based Dancehall artiste has hinted that his debut album, “Dancehall Trap” due early next year, is almost complete.

While Rygin King has been tight-lipped with details surrounding the forthcoming project, he took to Instagram last week to share the photo he’ll be using on for the album cover.

“Album picture,” he captioned the photo.

Dancehall fans are already eager for the project, “Yo can’t wait for you to drop this eno mi know a bay banger aguh deh pan it,” one fan wrote. “Grammy nah miss yuh mi King,” another added.

The “Tuff” deejay, real name Matthew Smith was shot and injured on Sunday, June 28 after leaving a funeral in Westmoreland.

Reports are that he was travelling in a convoy in Bethel Town when one of the cars was involved in a collision. While repairs were being done another car drove up and a passenger alighted and peppered the bystanders with bullets, including the deejay.

A woman, 28-year-old, Sashalee Blackwood was shot and killed in the incident, while another recording artiste, Goon, was shot in his foot.
