Concert organizers were forced to cancel a festival in Columbia after pop superstar Rihanna pulled out citing concerns over the Zika virus.
The Lollapalooza festival, which was scheduled for September 17-18 in Bogota, Columbia was cancelled after headline artiste Rihanna pulled the plug on her appearance over Zika virus worries.
Other artistes that were scheduled to perform on the festival included from Wiz Khalifa, Lana Del Rey, Disclosure and Anderson.
The mosquito-borne Zika virus was declared a “global health emergency” by the World Health Organization in January.
Rihanna makes a growing list of celebrities who have opted against traveling to the South American region where zika is a major concern.
Recently a growing number of American athletes have also opted against representing their country for the 2016 Summer Olympics taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
