Reggae Sumfest Says No Plans To Drop Alkaline Despite “After All” Controversy

Reggae Sumfest has no plans to drop headline act Alkaline despite recent controversy surrounding his name.

The “Impact” deejay has been subjected to heavy criticism from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), for his controversial “After All” music video, which they say glorified crime and violence.

The vendetta deejay found himself in hot water earlier this week after cops launched a formal investigation into his gun touting music video, which featured the unauthorized appearance of police personnel, marked vehicles, and also several high powered assault rifles.

However, despite heavy criticism and a cloud controversy surrounding the Danchall superstar, promoters of Reggae Sumfest have revealed that they currently have no plans to drop the “Badness It Name” deejay.

According to Sumfest chairman, Josef Bogdanovich, it would be a breach of contract to pull the “Formula” deejay from the show at this point, as he was booked several in advance long before any of these controversies arose.

Bogdanovich was also quick to point out that thousands of fans have already bought their tickets and booked flights based upon information about the festival, so pulling the deejay at this point would only serve to tarnish the festival’s reputation of delivering on promised acts.

Alkaline is billed to perform at Reggae Sumfest on July 21 at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay.
