Reggae Sumfest has been named in the top 10 list of global festivals for 2017 by a Canadian-based online travel agency.

The Jamaican Reggae festival was given a huge boost by a Canadian based online-travel agency, Flight Network, which named it the ninth best festival worldwide for 2017 in a list of 36 globally.

Reggae Sumfest’s inclusion in the top 10 is seen as significant boost for the annual festival as it joins some illustrious company, including top-three-rated Erlanger Bergkirchweih in Germany, the Cork Harbour Festival in Ireland, and the Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival in the United Kingdom.

According to Flight Network, the festivals are ranked based on several important factors including music, food and culture, which they say the Jamaican festival excels at.

The travel agency says the Jamaican festival has a great international appeal, attracting visitors from all over the world, while providing them with a unforgettable musical experience.

Reggae Sumfest 2017 is set to be staged from July 16-22 in Montego Bay, and will feature several headliners including Sean Paul and Beenie Man, Alkaline, Jah Cure, Sean Kingston and Tory Lanez.
