Power star, Micheal Rainey Jr., hopes to be an inspiration for all the youth of Jamaica to dream big and work hard.

The 20-year-old actor, who is the main protagonist in the hit drama series, Power Book 2: Ghost, was recently in Jamaica. He and his mom, Shauna Small spent the holidays here, popping up at several spots.

The actor made rounds on social media last week as he was spotted attending a treat organized by Mr. Lexx. There he proved a big hit among kids, handing out tablets before paying Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett a visit.

During his visit to the Ministry of Tourism, Rainey Jr. expressed his joy of being an inspiration to the youth of Jamaica.

“I just wanna keep inspiring the youth of Jamaica. To make all the youth know that anything is possible no matter what you wanna do, you can do it. Just stay motivated and stay positive, and just live your dream,” he said.

Rainey Jr has seen vast growth in popularity in recent months after assuming the starring role in his own spinoff. Loyal Power fans have found themselves rooting for the character they once seemingly despised.

The actor, whose mom is Jamaican, actually visits the island quite often and has even applied for citizenship.

Noting his love for the Island, Bartlett went on to encourage the 20-year-old to make Jamaica his home.

“We’re excited to participate in his dream, and Jamaica is very honored to have a son like Micheal, and we want him to not just feel apart of us, but to be apart of us,” he said.
