Popcaan’s Film Debut Set For Next Month On Netflix

Dancehall artist Popcaan is set to make his film debut as he was recently confirmed to appear in British crime drama film ‘The Intent 2: The Come Up,’ on Netflix.

Popcaan, whose real name is Andre Sutherland, is set to star alongside veteran Jamaican actor, Louie ‘Ox’ Rankin, in the gritty crime drama which is directed by Femi Oyeniran and Nicky Slimting Walker.

The “Firm and Strong” deejay’s appearance was recently confirmed after the promotional teaser for the film was released via YouTube.

Popcaan Made This Little Girl’s Dream Come True

Fans were already anticipating the news as rumours had emerged back in January that the “Unruly Boss” was set to star in the highly anticipated film.

Popcaan previously showed hints of his acting talents back in 2016 when he appeared in Drake’s short film ‘Please Forgive Me’ which combined several music videos with storyboard action scenes.

Filmmakers have described the sequel as being a similar formula to its predecessor, packing lots of action and humour while also adding a bit more international appeal for new fans.
