Popcaan performing in London for the first time tonight at Red Bull Culture Clash

Jamaica’s rich culture and heritage has made it a country that influences the world.

“Likkle but Tallawah” is a common phrase used to describe our robust influence. A popular aspect of Dancehall culture is the clash. A clash is when two or more deejays come together with unique mixes and dubs to impress the crowd and become the clash winner. This widely popular aspect of our Jamaican culture has been adapted around the world.

The 5th Annual Red Bull Culture Clash which happens in London on June 17th. The event features Jamaican artistes and deejays performing and will see Popcaan performing for the first time in the UK alongside Spice, Kranium and the Clash prince himself Tony Matterhorn and many more.

The first challengers stepping into the ring are Eskimo Dance, originally founded by the Godfather of Grime, Wiley, who built a home for the who’s who of grime talent and a reputation for legendary raves over the last decade. Brooklyn-based rivals Mixpak will step up next. Under this banner sought-after producer Dre Skull, assembled some of Jamaica’s biggest stars, from the likes of Popcaan, to Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man, and Spice. Third up, bringing a completely different flavour to the Culture Clash mix will be the UKG All Stars, a freshly formed collective made up of the great and good of UK garage with an undeniable catalogue of two-step classics. The final contender, repping for the US, will be led by global sensation Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Gang Entertainment.

Red Bull Culture Clash with its roots in Jamaican soundclash culture, each event sees four collectives competing over four rounds, utilising their biggest tunes, freshly cut dubs, special guests, performances and surprises to win over the crowd and walk away as champion.
