International Dancehall entertainer Popcaan joined Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness in St Thomas on Wednesday for the ground breaking of the new Morant Bay Urban Center.

The Unruly Boss, a native of Bath, St Thomas has been giving back to his community for year so its only right that Holness invited him for the historic occasion.

In a video posted to Andrew Holness’ official Twitter account, the two can be seen shaking hands after shovelling dirt at the construction site.

The Prime Minister also shared a snippet of a candid interview with the “Family” deejay which will be released soon.

“There’s a new energy flowing through Jamaica; we can see it in the buzz of activities taking place and in the optimism of our people,” Holness wrote on Instagram. “St Thomas is now part of this new wave as after years of little to no development its time has come!”

“Thank you to @popcaanmusic and the people of St. Thomas for believing in our promise to redevelop your parish. #NewJamaica #FirmAndStrong,” he continued.
