Popcaan was forced to cancel his performance at the annual Notting Hill carnival in the United Kingdom over the weekend due to unforseen circumstances.

The “Family” deejay released a statement over the weekend advising fans that he would not be able to perform at the annual West Indian carnival on Sunday following “last-minute unforseen circumstances.”

Popcaan was set to appear as the headline act for the festival and expressed his deep disappointment saying “I know Carnival is one of the biggest parties in the world and as of yesterday we thought everything was in hand to be joining in.”

Although no detailed explanation was given some fans have already theorized that the deejay may be experiencing some travel issues, as he was also forced to scrap his Red Bull Culture Clash appearance in the United States in similar fashion.

The 30-year-old Dancehall superstar has had a long history of problems with overseas engagements and is yet to officially perform in the United States despite being one of the biggest names in genre .

Organizers moved quickly to replace the Dancehall superstar by bringing in Konshens as the festival’s while other Jamaican acts Shenseea, Tony Matterhorn and MC Fox were also been added to the line up.
