Police from the Kingston Eastern division seized an AK-47 assault rifle and close to 100 rounds of assorted ammunition during separate operations in on Thursday.
According to police reports, the high-powered assault rifle was recovered during a raid on the premises along D’Aguilar Road, Kingston 2 at approximately 10:15 pm.
Cops say they searched the premises and found the weapon hidden in a drum along with seven 7.62 cartridges, however, no arrest was made in connection with the find.
Earlier in the day cops say as much as fifty-two 12-gauge cartridges were found during an operation in St James, while a further two were discovered during in a raid on a premises in Grove Road in St Andrew.
