Miami Heat president Pat Riley has confirmed that it is highly unlikely that Chris Bosh will play for the Heat again after failing to clear his medical.

Despite Bosh’s optimism, Riley told reporters on Monday that “I think Chris is still open-minded. But we are not working toward his return. We feel that, based on the last exam, that his Heat career is probably over.”

Riley however stated that it does not necessarily mean his NBA career is over, as that decision was “up to him” but the club have decided that its far too much of a health risk to put him on the court currently.

Bosh has been sidelined for the past two seasons due to blood clots in his calf and a pulmonary embolism in his lungs.
