Passenger Charged For Illegal Firearm Found On Bus

The Trelawny police have arrested and charged a passenger following the recovery of an illegal firearm that was found aboard a minibus last Friday.

According to police reports, a .45 pistol with two live rounds was discovered by Highway Patrol officers during a routine vehicular check of a public passenger minibus along the Falmouth main road.

All the passengers from the vehicle were reportedly taken to the Falmouth Police Station and processed, where one person was later charged.

Cops say the person the suspect is a 32-year-old resident of Flankers, St. James who boarded the vehicle in Montego Bay.

He is expected to appear in the Western Regional Gun Court later this week.
