OMI “Cheerleader” Certified Four-time Platinum In The UK

OMI’s smash hit single “Cheerleader” is the gift that continues giving for the Jamaican singer.

The “Cheerleader” remix done by German DJ Felix Jaehn is now certified four-time platinum in the United Kingdom by the BPI (British Recorded Music Industry).

According to the BPI, a single must sell over 600,000 units to get platinum certified, a milestone OMI and Felix Jaehn accomplished four times since the track became a worldwide hit in 2014.

Cheerleader was produced by Clifton “Specialist” Dillon and recorded at Oufah Recording Studio in Kingston in 2012. Two years later, German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn remixed the single, which was re-released by Ultra Music.

The track is featured on Shazam’s “Most Searched-for Songs Of All Time” list, securing the number 19 spot.

The official music video released on April 8, 2015 has since amassed over 1 billion views on YouTube.
