Ninjaman was sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday, in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston for his murder conviction.
The Dancehall veteran, whose given name is Desmond Ballentine, was given a life sentence for the 2009 murder of Ricardo “Ricky Trooper” Johnson. Ninjaman will be eligible for parole after 25 years. The ‘Don Gorgon’ also received 20 years for shooting with intent. The sentences will run concurrently.

Following the ruling handed down by Judge Martin Gayle, Ninjaman smiled and said “Thumbs up, judge.”
Ninjaman’s son, Jahneil Ballentine, was also handed a life sentence and will have to serve 15 years before becoming eligible for parole. Co-accused Dennis Clayton received a similar sentence.
