Lawyers representing embattled veteran entertainer Ninja Man say they are optimistic their client will be granted bail today after he was recently remanded into police custody following the beginning of his 8-year-old murder trial.

Ninja Man Remanded As Murder Trial Begins

According to the deejay’s attorney, Valrie Neita-Robertson, she fully expects her client to be granted bail today and his remand was only a customary measure when their trial is about to begin.

Last weekend a Judge ruled that the murder trial involving the entertainer and his son Jahneil into the shooting death of Ricardo Johnson, who was shot and killed on Marl Road in Kingston in 2009, should commence immediately.

The former Downsound Records deejay rose to prominence in the 1980’s and dominated for a number of years with hit singles such “Artical Don,” “Border Clash,” and “Cover Me” featuring Tinga Stewart.
