Veteran Dancehall artiste Ninja Man is calling on the government to “free up” parties and social gatherings for Black History Month in February.
The iconic deejay told The Star in a recent interview that the government and lawmakers were not doing enough to properly celebrate Black History Month or Reggae Month.
According to the deejay more social activities should be permitted during the time period. He called on police and all the powers that be to “free up” all permits for parties and social gatherings during the the time period to create a real atmosphere of celebration of Jamaican culture.

The police have since stated their leniency to some extent in cases such as this, but emphasized that they cannot go beyond the legal framework which they are governed by.
