With Sting a month away, the organizers have announced that they will be honoring several artistes who have assisted in the development and evolution of the stage show making it the greatest in the Caribbean.
A few artistes who will be honoured at the show include Lady Saw, Lieutenant Stitchie, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man and others. However, Killer and Ninja man have refused to attend the renowned stage show.
According to Bounty Killer, even though he has no issues with Isaiah Laing, the promoter of the show, he believes that he is only doing this as a publicity stunt and doesn’t genuinely appreciate what the artistes have done for the now popular stage show.
Ninja Man shared similar sentiments as Killer, he also said that he has nothing against Isaiah Laing and implied that he should have been honored in the past since he has done enough work in helping to develop the dancehall industry.
The categories for the awards will include Sting Icons, Sting Champions and Top Performers, both artistes have stated that if they are indeed being honored they will send someone to collect the award on their behalf.
