Nigerians Blasting Drake For Treating WizKid Similarly To Popcaan

Nigerian singer/songwriter WizKid finally released the highly anticipated music video for “Come Closer,” his latest collaborative single with Canadian Rapper Drake on Friday, April 7.

However despite racking up over 300,000 views on YouTube after a few hours, many critics weren’t pleased with the visuals claiming it was a replica of the ‘6 God’s’ “Hotline Bling” single.

Nigerians were also upset when they found out that Drake was absent from the music video, snubbing Wiz once again.

Surprisingly while they’ve already secured two hit singles with “One Dance” and now “Come Closer,” Drake and WizKid are yet to meet in real life, leaving persons to once again claim Drizzy is a Culture Vulture allegedly only using the Starboy to gain popularity in Africa and Afrobeats influence, similarly to his affiliation with Dancehall artist Popcaan.

Since Drake’s link with the ‘Unruly Boss’ all his projects have been heavily influenced by Jamaica and Dancehall genre however Popcaan is yet to get an official feature.
