Nicki Minaj has apologized for her husband’s behavior following a backlash in Trinidad.

The “Yikes” rapper has reacted to fan backlash over her husband Kenneth’s actions during their recent visit to Trinidad.

Nicki Minaj made headlines this week after she and her boo touched down in Trinidad for carnival. Things seemed to be going well for the star until an incident involving one of Soca’s biggest stars Iwer George.

Kenneth was dragged on social media after footage emerged of him apparently pushing Iwer George.

In the clip, Iwer George was seen performing his track, “Stage Gone Bad,” while aboard Machel Montano’s truck/float. During his performance, Iwer reached out to Nicki before being blocked and slightly shoved by the rapper’s husband.

The incident would go on to spark controversy among fans who claim she should have left Kenneth back home.

“First of all SHE SHOULD HAVE LEFT HIM HOME!!!!!!,” wrote one annoyed Instagram user. Another user added that, “Kenny and nicki lucky the crowd didn’t see it or else that float would a get bottle and stone out trini or Caribbean ppl dont play about them own. Iwer is a legend there.”

The rapper soon realized what had occurred and took the microphone to apologize to the mass on behalf of her husband. She said, “Can you guys get me out of jail?” Before continuing, “I just wanna say I love you guys and I am so happy to be here, this is my first carnival ever.”

Nicki would also take to Instagram to defend her boo while offering an apology for his actions.

“Oh gawd. Allyuh like sh** eh? I go cus all yuh real fkn stink yuh know?,” she wrote. “He don’t understand anything about our culture. I apologize on his behalf. He’s always in security mode. All Love. Love my country to death. Period.”
