New Development In Munga Honorebel Murder Case

Crime Stop stopped has stepped in Dancehall artist Munga Honorebel’s murder case and is now offering a hefty reward.

The crime fighting agency announced a JMD $300,000 reward which ends November 2018 to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest and charge of men involved in the murder of Clevelend Smith, the man Munga is accused of killing.

Smith was murdered on February 12, in the community of Ackee Walk in St Andrew. According to police reports, he was riding his bicycle when he was attacked by a group of men, one of whom was armed with a firearm. It is further alleged that an altercation ensued and Smith was shot and killed.

Munga was charged with Smith’s murder back in May however he has maintained his innocence.

According to Crime Stop, while the “Bad From Me Born” deejay, real name Damion Rhoden, is before the courts for the incident, authorities believe other persons are involved in Smith’s murder.

However Munga’s lawyer Christopher Townsend, says the reward being offered by Crime Stop indicates that the cops might not be certain that his client was involved in Smith’s murder. Townsend also noted in his bail application earlier this year that his client has features that are similar to other persons living in the community where the incident happened, and thus a mistake in identity may have occurred.
