Mr Vegas Talks Wanting To Commit Suicide, Seeing Duppy & Aliens, Becoming A Christian

Dancehall-turn-Gospel artiste Mr Vegas recently spoke about a slew of topics including him wanting to commit suicide, seeing duppy and aliens while on medication, his upcoming “Soul Therapy” album, becoming a Christian and still performing his secular songs in a candid interview.

Speaking about his recent collaboration with Gospel powerhouse Glacia Robinson for his single “I’m Delivered,” Vegas, real name Clifford Smith, said he reached out to her years ago after he heard about her story as he could relate, “It was just like when i was going through a time in my life where i was just having a lot of chest pain and every doctor telling me something different,” Vegas said. “One time i felt like jumping through and building and committing suicide because the pain was just so much, i was being admitted to the hospital and some doctors giving me medication that make me see all duppy, mi a see alien like Foota Hype,” he added.

Vegas who revealed that he was baptized at the age of nine says he has been getting mixed reactions from the Christian community since his announcement, “You have good people in the Christian community and you have bad people in the Christian community,” he said. “You have good people in the secular world but i don’t like that word because i don’t think a man singing a good Reggae song and a clear Dancehall song should be classed in a good like it is a dirty music,” he added hence the reason for him still performing his secular songs at events.

Vegas also tackled producer Cordel ‘Skatta’ Burrell on his anti-religious stance and talked about the recent controversies concerning the church in Jamaica during the interview.
