Mr Vegas Raising Money To Help Jamaican Selectors Affected By Covid-19

Veteran recording artiste Mr Vegas has launched a fund-raising initiative to help Jamaican selectors who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dancehall deejays and selectors are among those badly affected by the pandemic in Jamaica following the closure of the entertainment industry in mid-march.

It was only last week that the Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie announced that intimate gatherings, not exceeding 280 guests, can be held. All protocols such as wearing masks must be observed. In the meantime, Mr Vegas is looking to give a helping hand.

The Heads High deejay, whose given name is Clifford Smith, took to his Instagram account recently to plead for donations via Cash App or GoFundMe to assist affected deejays/selectors.

Mr Vegas kicked off the initiative and made a US$2,000 donation to the project. His goal is set at US$100,000.
“Support our Jamaican Selectors. I am starting the pot at 2000 US to raise funds for the Jamaican selectors that assisted in making us world known Celebrities,” Vegas wrote.
