Montego Bay Office Building Suffers Bomb Scare

Panic reigned on Tuesday as a call centre was forced to close its operations in Montego Bay, St James on Tuesday after cops say they received several anonymous calls claiming a bomb was in the building.

According to reports, cops received information of a bomb threat on the facility, which is located on East Street, at approximately 11:20 a.m.

Bomb deposal experts from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) and the Fire Brigade responded to the bomb scare and the building was safely evacuated.

Investigators say they thoroughly combed the environment, however, no explosive devices were discovered.

The building was later declared safe.
