Monica’s #SoGoneChallenge spikes sales of single

Veteran R&B diva Monica has seen a significant spike in sales for her 2003 hit single “So Gone” following a now vastly popular freestyle challenge.

The #SoGoneChallenge became a viral hit after Chance the Rapper shared a viral video which was retweeted more than 240,000 times, and amassed over 318,000 likes.

Since its inception just over 2 million Twitter users have participated in the challenge including several celebrities such as Keke Palmer, Kevin Hart, Dwayne Wade and even Monica herself.

The spike in interest has reportedly significantly boosted sales of the 13-year-old single according to Forbes. The single has seen a 129% increase in streams on popular streaming platform Spotify.

Apple Music also reported a significant jump in sales for the Missy Elliot produced track, citing a 400% increase in sales since August 10.
