The entertainment and culture ministry has broken their silence on the rumours claiming that Etana is yet to receive her US$5,000 grant.
The reports started to circulate last week Friday after popular artiste manager/promoter Heavy D made the announcement during launch of the Dancehall Archives and Research Initiative at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in St Andrew.
“Etana nah go talk, but me will say it! All now she nuh get the money yet,” Heavy D said.

However according to Entertainment and Culture Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange’s director of communications, Oliver Watt, the international recording artiste received the funds shortly after the announcement was made back in February.
Etana made history earlier this year when she became first female recipient of the grant. The singer was promised US$5,000 to assist with promotion on 32-city North American tour.
