MC Nuffy Claims Dancehall Artistes Must Clash To Prove Dominance

MC Nuffy claims that no Dancehall artiste can claim dominance over the genre unless they are willing to clash.

According to MC Nuffy, Dancehall is similar to athletics in a number of ways. He claims that in order to be declared the “top man” you have to be willing to test yourself against other artistes competitively.

Nuffy’s comments come after some fans took offense to comments made by fast-rising Montego Bay-based deejay, Rygin King, during an Instagram Live post claiming Alkaline was not in his league.

The “Tuff” deejay apparently responded to comparisons made between himself and the Vendetta deejay saying “Yuh mad dem bwoy deh nuh inna mi league muma…yuh nuh see a VVS deh pon neck. Drip! Drip! Hear dat, dem no inna mi league.”

MC Nuffy Details Past Relationship With Spice

While Nuffy does agree that many artistes may not necessarily need clashes to remain relevant, he does think they are expected to defend their title if they claim to be the “Champion Boy.”

The entertainer’s comments seem to take direct shots at Alkaline, who he claims has faded significantly since refusing to clash in the past. He went on to claim his actions made fans lose believe in him as a champion.

Nuffy went to say that for an entertainer to elevate their careers to a level of true greatness they must be willing to compete, much like deejays in the past such as Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Mavado and Vybz Kartel.
