Mavado Staying Strong Despite Son’s Legal Troubles

Chase Cross says that Mavado has been staying mentally strong despite his teenage son facing trial for murder.

The entertainer, who is a cousin of the “Progress” deejay, has revealed that the Dancehall superstar has been holding it together despite going through one of the hardest periods of his life.

“Him a hold it the best he can because we all know that everybody is a human being,” Cross said. “Him a good through a little phase right now seeing that his son is locked up and the whole situation that happened. But he is going to be good and things because he is a soldier, God for the Gully. So he is holding up pretty well.”

Chase cross made the revelation during a recent interview with Winford Williams where he briefly spoke on the entertainer’s issues stemming from a July shooting incident in Cassava Piece, St Andrew.

Mavado recently released a single, “Dancehall Prophecy,” in which he pays homage to his incarcerated son while blasting critics for claiming he is a bad father for leaving the island during his son’s legal woes.

Investigators have repeatedly demanded that the Dancehall entertainer turn himself in for questioning, but he continues to remain in the United States where he holds a permanent residency.

Mavado’s son is charged with the murder of 23-year-old Lorenzo Thomas, who was shot, chopped and burned to death at his home in Cassava Piece, St Andrew back in June.

The teen is being housed at the Metcalfe Street Secure Juvenile Remand Centre and is scheduled to return to court on October 17.
