Mavado

The Tropixs (Kingston, Jamaica) Mavado is calling for the return of some very special Nike kicks that were stolen from him.

The Dancehall entertainer is demanding the return his one of a kind custom Nike sneakers, which were recently stolen.

Over the weekend Mavado took to Instagram to post a photo of the unique pair of kicks, which were presented to him following his collaboration with Nike to celebrate Asafa Powell’s record run of 9.77 in 2008.

“Someone stole my shoes and I want it back ok this shoes here is a part of history it was when NIKE first recognized Danchall music and how great I am so I want it back.@asafasub10king #flammablesundays,” the deejay captioned the post.

According to the deejay, he is not willing to part ways with the standout kicks, which sports his name en-crested in map of Jamaica and also features the name of his hometown community of Cassava Piece.

However, it seems the the deejay’s pleas have sparked mixed reactions from fans online, with many claiming that the deejay is simply looking for attention while others found humour in the alleged theft.

“The man a try every thing inna the books fi get a forward black inna the biz smh,” one fan lammented while another joked “Di Last Time Shoes Lost, Wah Lizard Dead. Be Careful 😂”

The hilarious comments did not end there as one fan went to accuse his former affiliate Foota Hype of stealing the kicks, to which the veteran disc jock quickly clapped back “@rara_dawizrd mi did get my own pair so dont try style it.”

Despite some of the more comedic responses, it seems some fans were also genuinely sympathetic towards the deejay’s loss with one fan saying “Jah know how dem fi do that tek we the gully god history piece.”

In recent weeks Mavado has managed to stir up quite a bit of controversy on social media, after recently posting a video of his 2008 clash with long-time rival Vybz Kartel, seemingly in an attempt to reignite their feud.
