Popular dancer Marvin the Beast is threatening legal action against The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) after he was detained by cops at Reggae Sumfest 2016 in Montego Bay on Friday night.

Marvin says his lawyer is currently investigating if he has a case against the cops who arrested him. He was reportedly detained at the Freeport Police Station for two days then charged with malicious destruction of property. He’s set to appear in the St James Parish Court on August 3.

Marvin says on Dancehall Night he had just finished performing with artistes Don Andre, Ding Dong and Chi Ching Ching, when he was approached by over fifteen police officers, who assaulted him and demanded that he accompany them to the police station.

The controversial dancer was in May instructed by detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) to turn himself in to police custody, however he failed to comply.

Detectives from CISOCA had listed the dancer as wanted for questioning following investigations into a viral video which showed Marvin the Dancer and his cronies chasing and cornered a female patron, and physically forcing themselves on her.
There were also some suggestions that the female in the viral video might have been under aged, however these suspicions were not confirmed by authorities.
The viral footage triggered widespread condemnation from several groups and was even picked up by several international tabloids.
