Marcia Aitken Gets Over 1 Million Streams After Beyonce, Jay Z Sample

Marcia Aitken’s 1977 smash hit ‘I’m Still In Love With You Boy’ has found new life thanks to an endorsement from R&B superstar Beyonce.

The “Crazy In Love” singer, who is currently on the island filming a music video, helped reignite interest in the classic Jamaican hit song after using it to announce her upcoming tour with rapper husband Jay Z.

The track, which was released as a cover version to Alton Ellis’ “I’m Still In Love With You” became a number one hit in 1977 and helped to propel Aitken to stardom in a short space of time.

According to Aitkin, she was in Canada when she began getting a lot of phone calls and messages telling her that her classic song was used by Beyonce in a promo.

Since Beyonce first used the track the track the single has gone on to register over 1.5 million streams on Spotify.
