The St Thomas woman who was arrested and charged last year following the emergence of a viral video showing her beating her 12-year-old daughter with a machete looks set to know her fate next month.
The 40-year-old mother, Doreen Dyer, was arrested and charged after a video depicting her beating her daughter with a machete went viral on social media.
Dyer was scheduled to be sentenced last Monday, however, the matter was reportedly delayed after the court was forced to await the arrival of her attorney, Bertram Anderson, coupled with an unexpected power outage.
The woman is set to return to court on February 9 for sentencing.
