Lottery scam law student passes final exams

The Jamaican law student who is accused of scamming a 89-year-old Virginia resident out of almost $300,000 through mail fraud has passed her final exams at the Norman Manley Law School.

When results were announced on Monday it was revealed that Teresa Wilson had indeed passed her final exams, making her eligible to be called to the Bar and legally practice law in Jamaica.

It however remains unlikely that Wilson will be called to the Bar as she has brought her character into moral and legal disrepute.

Many even question if she will be allowed to graduate from the Norman Manley Law School in September, as the institution will most likely seek to distance itself from her as she awaits trial in the United States.
Prosecutors say Wilson, along with friend high school friend Yanique Coach, and Coach’s boyfriend Dwayne Breary co-conspired to defrauded a 89-year-old Virginia woman of almost $300,000 in cash between 31, 2014, to November 25, 2014.
