TALIS who hails from Constitution Hill in St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica, star is most definitely rising. Born Romain Bartholomew Taylor TALIS talent has received praise within industry circles as far as LA. A unique gift for wrapping his smooth swag around the most challenging hook, bridge or song, TALIS effortlessly delivers with impeccable precision.

By chance, in 2017 TALIS was introduced via Whyte Kydd Promotions to emerging super producer HeadNoize, who was highly instrumental to the break out success of Jamaican dancehall pop artist Samantha J. HeadNoize recognized there was something unique in TALIS thus elected to work with the artist on developing his craft. When industry veteran Livio Harris, SVP Global Operations for Pro Music Rights and Fmr. VP Notting Hill Music Publishing, came knocking on HeadNoize’s door requesting him to produce the “Good Love” remix for Tommy Boy Entertainment (New York) artist Adriiana, the producer had no hesitation selecting TALIS as the songwriter/artist feature on the track. Within 48-hours of receiving instrumentals, TALIS wrote and delivered perfect vocals.

A new spin on the song was born, creating a paradigm shift in the way Talis would be heard and recognized in the music industry. Both HeadNoize and Livio Harris were pleased with the result. Harris stated, “TALIS is for sure my favorite new dancehall artist! Label worthy.The song went on to receive two thumbs up with DJ Elmo of News Talk 93 FM highlighting that many of Talis’ songs are geared toward the ladies. The quick-witted artist replied, “The ladies dem love mi so…mi haffi love dem back.” Calling for a music video of TALIS’ “Good Love” collab, DJ Elmo gave himself credit for recognizing hits; stating the dancehall remix was an “international crossover song…Billboard worthy. “

TALIS stamp on the Adrianna RnB remix was the turning point that peaked HeadNoize’s interest in continuing to work with this artist resulting in the 2019 Easter Weekend release of “CIRCLE”. The riddim featured 15 artists including the legendary Sizzla Kalonji, Jahvinci, Turbulence, and Savage. Landing front and center stage on Hype TV, Johann Dawes hosted an hour-long segment featuring live interviews and performances of the album’s artists. His resume includes several top 10 albums, work as an educator in his community, two worldwide tours and a dedication to Hip-Hop growth and advocacy.

Currently, DJ Pain 1 is touring, working on several new albums including a forthcoming release with Public Enemy, and continuing to advocate for Hip-Hop in his community through his work as a founding member of the non-profit Urban Community Arts Network.
