Popcaan

Popcaan’s legal team has shut down allegations he was found with an illegal firearm.

Popcaan’s lawyer, Bert Samuels, has categorically denied reports that he was held in possession of an illegal firearm.

The deejay made headlines this week after a viral video emerged claiming he was detained during a traffic stop.

In the video clip, cops could be seen searching a vehicle allegedly occupied by the entertainer and his affiliates.

“Now people look wah a gwaan. Me hear say dem ketch Popcaan wid gun,” a woman is heard saying in the video.

Following the incident, Samuels has confirmed that Popcaan was indeed an occupant in the vehicle. However, he nor any member of his entourage was not detained for illegal firearms.

According to Samuels, the car was stopped by law enforcers for a road traffic violation. He explained that during the stop, another occupant of the vehicle declared he was a licensed firearm holder. Following that declaration, the lawmen asked everyone traveling in the vehicle to exit while they conducted checks.

The attorney says the firearm was examined and returned to its holder, and that was the end of the incident.

Samuels says his client has since expressed disappointment, as “an incident free encounter with the police is being turned into a story with no foundation.”

Popcaan has since reacted on Instagram by posting a cryptic message to his haters while assuring fans he was “outside.”
