Lauryn Hill is reportedly suing her cousin for $65,000.

According to reports, the Grammy-winning artiste is taking her cousin, Gerald Hill, to court over $65,000 that she claims he was supposed to pay her back from a loan.

The lawsuit was filed in New Jersey and says Gerald and Lauryn had a contract stating Gerald would put down 10 percent interest if the loan wasn’t paid off in three months. It’s a been a year and Lauryn hasn’t received a dime. A month has passed since Lauryn filed the lawsuit, and Gerald has yet to respond to that as well.

Lauryn has the opportunity to also axseek legal fees but the singer only wants her money back, interest, and monetary damages. As for now, the “Doo Wop” artist has been on tour for the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
