Kranium

The Tropixs (Kingston, Jamaica) – Kranium has struck gold with his 2015 hit single Nobody Has To Know.

The Dancehall superstar’s hit single has officially been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales of 500,000. The certification was announced on September 27.

The milestone achievement was announced by the track’s producer, Lamar Michael Reynolds, who said ” “Words cannot describe how I am feeling. I am happy for the achievement and it’s more for the Jamaican culture than even for us. It’s a dancehall record in patois that has sold well in the US market.”

Nobody Has To Know, which was recorded in the producer’s apartment basement over 6-years-ago, topped several reggae charts and peaked at number 44 on Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart four years ago.

According to Reynolds, as soon as they recorded the track they knew it would be a hit but not to this magnitude. The track would eventually go on to skyrocket Kranium’s career and earn him a record deal.

The success of the single resulted in several record labels compete for Kranium’s signature, who eventually signed with Atlantic Records which released his debut album, “Rumors,” in October 2015.

The milestone achievement did not go unnoticed by fans as many took to social media to congratulate the Dancehall superstar.

“One song u haffi sing when u hear it…well deserved,” one fan commented while another said “This mi a talk bout 💯 , he is officially a hitter and that song was in fact a good song , man have gold under him belt ya now anuh features and bad mind give him that a good work , big up yuh self kranium.”
