Konshens caused quite a stir on social media recently when he uploaded a video speaking about inequality in the music industry.

In a clip shared on the international Dancehall entertainer’s Instagram page, Konshens addressed local producers wanting to take a large percentage of the revenue obtained for projects.

“It still amazes me how this simple concept is so hard to digest in Jamaica.
You mek a riddim(your riddim), Me write an record a song(my song), Put dem together the end product is YOURS ALONE?????. HOW?? ?,” Konshens wrote under the video.

Konshens’ post angered a few Reggae and Dancehall producers who uploaded a slew of responses, “Mi hear seh man a throw word like gal chu mi previous post. But memba seh 1/2 a unnu nuh like me already an 1/4 nuh know mi suh mi nuh care if me inna unnu bad book. Mi mek mi talk. IF YUH NUH NAME @demarcodadon @leftsideja or maybe @digenius1,” the deejay responded.
