Koffee

Koffee has has capped off a stellar year with a memorable performance.

The “Toast” deejay wrapped up 2019 in fine style with a performance in the Ghanaian capital Accra.

The concert, which was staged by Afrobeats star Mr. Eazi saw the Jamaican superstar performance for thousands in the motherland.

During her stint Koffee performed several of her hits including “Toast,” “Rapture,” “W,” and “Raggamuffin.”

The performance was the last stop in Koffee’s mini-tour of Africa, with stops in The Lagos, Nigeria, and Nairobi in Kenya.

The deejay described the moment as ‘a very proud moment’ saying it reminded her of home.

“Everywhere that I have seen has reminded me of home, some way, somehow…I think we relate to each other a lot: Africans and Jamaicans, especially because this is where we’re all from in the first place,’ she said.

Koffee is looking to continue her strides into 2020, with big plans to take more creative control of her musical output.

According to the entertainer, much of her productions so far have been a case of producers bringing “what they have already and I just do what I can to fit the riddim”.

“I have been releasing songs that I’ve actually liked so far, songs that I have actually enjoyed doing. I think now I’m moving more into having more of a ‘dictative’ standpoint when it comes to producing my music,” she said.

Last year Koffee was nominated for a Grammy for her debut EP Rapture. The Grammys is set for January 26, 2020 at the the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
