Koffee

Koffee is not changing her personal fashion style for anyone.

The Grammy-winning Reggae superstar remains unphased despite criticisms of her personal fashion choices.

Koffee was hit with recent criticism following her fashion choices at the 62nd Grammy Award show.

Some fans took to social media to criticize the star over her outfit claiming it was too masculine. Koffee attended the event in a black-and-white Thom Browne three-piece suit with matching shoes.

However, according to the “Toast” star, she is unbothered by the criticism. She says she feels no desire or pressure to conform to expectations or standards.

“I wanted an outfit I knew I could wear all day, still feel good and confident in, and that suit represented that for me after I tried a few. I am a person who dresses to be comfortable; I did not allow the Grammy Awards name and won’t allow the title to stop me from doing that,” Koffee said.

“If persons didn’t like the look, it simply means they would not wear it if they were the ones invited to the Grammys, so that’s good for them. I don’t have a word to say to the critics, I never want to bash them. They do what they want or don’t want to, but I know I do and go with whatever I feel like in that given time or place. It helps me to be unique, without conforming or fitting myself into certain boxes,” she continued.

Co-incidentally, Koffee was not the only female star to sport an androgynous look. Several other female stars such as Brandi Carlile, Bebe Rexha and Billie Eilish also donned a tux at the awards.

Since Koffee’s breakout in 2018 numerous fans have debated her unique fashion sense. Some fans have even controversially argued that the teenaged star should dress more ‘feminine.’

Earlier this month Koffee created history by becoming the first female solo act to win the Best Reggae Album Grammy. She was also the youngest star to win the award at just 19-years old.
