Kendrick Lamar to perform at White House for Fourth Of July celebrations

Kendrick Lamar is set to perform at the White House on the Fourth of July for the President’s Independence Day celebrations.

The Compton rapper and Janelle Monae are set to perform for distinguished guests, including military heroes and their families, at a barbecue and fireworks display.

The hallmark performance highlights the glowing respect President Obama has for the Compton rapper. This marks his second trip to the White House.

President Obama previously declared Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” as his favorite song of 2015, and that he favored Lamar over Drake in a rap battle.
