Kappa Featured On New Project With Kranium

In the words of Kenyan actor, comedian and stuntman Deep Roy, “Inspiration comes from within yourself. One has to be positive. When you’re positive, good things happen.” This is the mantra Dancehall artiste Kappa has taken as he makes his foray into the music industry.

Born Courtney Linton to Jamaican parents in Brooklyn, New York, Kappa from his formative years working with producer Kheilstone in Queens (New York City) was intent on becoming a success, citing international dancehall star Kranium as one of his many musical inspirations. How ironic a thought! Considering only a few years later following the release of an ode to his Jamaican roots dubbed ‘Yardie’ and a 42-track mixtape titled, ‘Sex, Drugs and Dancehall’ (SDD) which spawned the buzzworthy ‘House Pon Di Hill’, the young upstart found himself opening for Kranium at one of his concerts and also performing alongside a plethora of stars at various events including Hot 97’s – Pon Di Reggae & Soca Tip Live.

Kranium Happy With Career Growth

Fast-forward to 2018, Kappa continues to make positive strides after recently teaming up with noted producer CJ The Chemist for the single ‘Fall Over’ on the hit-bound ‘Dem Nuh Like We’ rhythm also featuring Kranium, Zj Liquid and Noah Powa.

According to Kappa, “I am just thankful for all the opportunities that have been presented to me in recent times. All of what is happening now are things I have dreamt about. However, what is most apparent is the more I focus and work on my career, is the more I see things manifest into reality.”

Currently promoting his single ‘My Talent’ on the Delly Ranx produced Cotton Swab rhythm, Kappa aims to scribe his name in the annals of the music industry as the curtains come down on 2018. The young deejay is also in the process of completing his debut EP.
