Judge orders Police to release Alkaline if deejay isn’t charged today

Dancehall artiste Alkaline could be released today, the deejay has been in Police custody since last week Thursday after reporting to the Area 4 Headquarters, Harman Barracks in Vineyard Town, Kingston for questioning in the Murder of Rohan “Head” Morris.

On Monday the “Badness It Name” deejay, real name Earlan Bartley’s attorney, Peter Champagnie made an application in the St Andrew parish court for his client’s immediate release. The Judge then ordered cops to release the artiste by 6PM today if charges aren’t laid against him.

Last week Tuesday the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) released a statement saying Alkaline was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Morris as cops believe the deejay can assist with the investigation. 28-year-old Morris was shot more than 15 times at his home in Oaks Garden, St Andrew last month allegedly beside his 5-year-old daughter.
