The Journey of TravelrTaxi CEO Damar Hutchinson

A big Congratulation to Damar Hutchinson the CEO of Travelr Taxi for successfully completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Technology. Hutchinson indicated that the best is yet to come has he reveal some of his plans for his start up taxi/tour company Travelr Taxi & Tours.

Hutchinson journey started when he enrolled at the University of Technology in 2013 with no money. However, he had bright ideas how he will finance his university education. Hutchinson began providing freelance drafting services to Architects and Engineers across Jamaica, while he thought himself how to make websites and begun studying various online business models. In 2015, Hutchinson created a modern car resource website CarsInJamaica.com where persons can buy and sell vehicles online.

Hutchinson aggressively market his website to both large and small car dealers across the island, he had to deal with many rejections from larger car dealers. However, many of the smaller car dealers realize the benefit of using his website.

November 2016, Hutchinson founded Travelr Taxi & Tours a brick and mortar business around his father profession who is a taxi driver. The business has grown to a point where he is creating opportunity for independent vehicle owners to become a part of the Travelr Taxi fleet. Hutchinson went ahead to explain that the university education he receive will become vital as he scale his business across Jamaica, stating that he will be taking a well calculated shot at the transportation industry in Jamaica to create value added taxi service to commuters.
