John Legend and Chrissy Teigen said they are donating $25,000 to the “March For Our Lives” demonstration in Washington, D.C. that is being organized by students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

“We support the students. We are proud of the students,” Legend told AP Entertainment this week during a press event for NBC’s “Jesus Christ Super Star,” the live concert that Legend will star in on April 1.

The walk is scheduled for March 24 in Washington and other cities.

“We believe that our gun culture needs to change in America. We stand out among other major countries in the world when it comes to these kinds of massacres but also in the everyday gun violence that people have to deal with,” Legend said.

The singer and songwriter, who has a 1-year-old daughter and is expecting another baby with Teigen, also added, “I am glad these kids from Parkland are saying ‘enough is enough,’ and we support them.”

Last Monday night, NBC late night host Jimmy Fallon announced on his show that he was also supporting the walk. He joins other celebrities including George and Amal Clooney who have also announced that they are taking part in the walk.

The couple pledged a $500,000 donation for the event. Oprah Winfrey, who has called the Parkland students “warriors of the light’’ said she would match the Clooneys’ $500,000 donation for the event.
