Joe Bogdanovich Says More Money Can Be Made From Entertainment

Joe Bogdanovich thinks entertainment can generate more revenue.

The Reggae Sumfest CEO says entertainment can be the key to stimulating more growth in the Jamaican economy.

According to Bogdanovich, a lot of revenue to be made from the entertainment sector all investors can work together.

“I believe I can make a difference, you know. Reggae Sumfest generated over US$10 million in annual revenue, benefiting the Jamaican economy and the St James parish. Do you know what that means? Over a billion Jamaican dollars infused into the local economy of Montego Bay,” Bogdanovich said.

The Downsound Records CEO made the declaration during his company’s annual Christmas party, in Kingston on Thursday night.

Bogdanovich used the opportunity to plead to other entertainment stakeholders to take a unified approach as he cannot do it on his own.

“We have to look at entertainment as a fully fledged business and work together. This means the music fraternity, the sponsors, the Government and the communities, all working together as one. Let’s take a stand and make it right, make a commitment and honour it.”

Over the past few years, Bogdanovich has emerged as one of the most significant names in the Reggae/Dancehall industry. In 2016 he acquired the Reggae Sumfest brand in 2016 for an undisclosed sum and continued to grow the brand.
