Jamaican ‘Shottas’ Actor Louie Rankin AKA Teddy Bruck Shut Is Dead

The Tropixs (Toronto, Ontario) – Popular Jamaican actor/Dancehall artiste Louie Rankin has died.

The Grammy-award winning artiste passed away on Monday in a fatal wreck in Ontario, Canada. The crash reportedly involved a transport truck and another vehicle, TMZ reports.

Louie Rankin, real name Leonard Forbes, was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica and grew up in Rockfort, Warika Hill and East Kingston. His most successful song was the single “Typewriter,” released in 1992.

Louie Rankin is best known for his acting roles as a Jamaican “gangsta.” He starred alongside Nas and DMX in the 1998 crime drama “Belly,” his character, Ox, was a Jamaican kingpin.

Rankin also played the new “King of Miami”, Teddy Bruck Shut in 2002 drama action film “Shottas” with Ky-Mani Marley, Spragga Benz and Paul Campbell.

Rankin often refers to himself as the “Original Don Dada.” He went viral earlier this year during the 2019 NBA finals between Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, whom he religiously endorsed on social media.
