Jamaican Pilot Among The Youngest In The World

A Jamaican man has made his country proud by becoming one of the youngest pilots in the world at the age of 25.

According to Marlon Dayes, he had always dreamed of becoming an airline pilot as a child but never imagined he could have achieved it all so quickly.

The young pilot revealed his fascination with airplanes began at the tender age of five as he was given the chance to see inside the cockpit of a plane while boarding a flight with his mother.

Dayes says he received the encouragement and support of his mother throughout the entire journey, as she pushed him to reach for his academic goals in order to fulfill his passion for aviation.

The Portland-born man, who began flying at the age of 19, is currently a pilot for Delta Airlines but says hopes to start flying bigger international planes soon, as he dreams of flying all around the world.

Dayes says he is thankful for his many accolades so far in his young career but his most gratifying moment was his first flight with his mother on board, knowing how proud she was of his achievements.
