Caffrey Brown, the Jamaican man accused of scamming his British fiancée of £10,000 is telling his side of the story.

Earlier this month it was reportedly that 24-year-old Louise Chesney and her then 48-year-old fiancé Paul visited Jamaica to plan their beach wedding however few days into her holiday another man, a Jamaican had caught her eye.

He was 25-year-old Caffrey Brown, who worked at the hotel the couple was staying. It’s reported that after Paul went to bed with a headache one evening, Chesney took a stroll on the white sandy beaches of Negril and shared a kiss with Brown.

Two weeks after returning from Jamaica, Chesney called off her engagement with Paul, she says Brown had promised to marry her and they had begun planning a wedding of their own in the UK.

Unfortunately Chesney says her new love came at a cost as she spent thousands of dollars on Brown who constantly told her stories of the hardships of Jamaican life.

Brown who has been tight-lipped on the matter, has now broken his silence saying after reading the articles published online he was left surprised and confused.

According Brown, who works as an Entertainment Coordinator at a hotel in Negril, Westmoreland, Chesney made a mistake and is now trying to cover it by painting him in a bad light.

Brown says her lies are now affecting his life and he could possibly lose his job as a result of this. “It is a bunch of lies and false allegations, and I know it is going to affect my job. It is affecting me. People who read it are going to think I am a bad person,” he said. “I am hurting.”

The two date for a year, according to Chesney she had to work six days a week at her minimum-wage care home job to save £4,000 to visit Jamaica twice a year to see Brown, an expense she hoped to eliminate after she began filing paperwork to secure him a temporary visa.

Chesney says she had to move in with her brother as she had spent so much money on Brown, she was unable to afford her rent. She claims she paid for a visa for Brown to travel to England, his airfare, a trip to the Ethiad Stadium, and got him gifts.

However not denying he had received anything from her, Brown says he didn’t do anything wrong. “I did not dip into her pocket and take out money. She did it on her own,” he said.
