Jamaican-Born Soldier Found Dead In Mexico Hotel, Family Seeks Answers

Family members are determined to get answers into the mysterious death of Jamaican-born United States soldier Shauna-Lee Moodie, who died during a vacation in Mexico last December.

The Jamaican-born woman who was enrolled in the US army was found dead in a Mexican hotel room on December 19 last year, leaving family members still searching for details into her death.

Family members are said to be crippled grief and confusion as Moodie’s body was brought back to Jamaica earlier this week.

According to reports, the 23-year-old woman’s lifeless body was found in her hotel room next to her husband, however, it remains unclear if any charges were laid against her spouse.

Still unable to get any result from the initial autopsy family members said they made several attempts to get a second done but was told the procedure was now impossible as her body is already fully embalmed.

According to the family, the only explanation for their daughter’s death was from the husband’s father who told them Moodie had apparently choked on her own saliva.

The former Montego Bay High School student migrated to the United Staes in 2013 where she enrolled at Monroe College and later joined the US Army.

The trip to Mexico was reported to celebrate Moodie’s recent achievement.
