J. Cole Breaks Streaming Record With New “KOD” Album

J. Cole’s latest album “KOD” has broken Apple Music’s record for most first-day album streams, as well as Spotify’s record for most first-day U.S. album streams.

With 64.5 million plays on Apple Music, Cole beat the previous record held by Drake’s “VIEWS” by over a million streams. At 36.6 million plays on Spotify, he beat out the record previously held by Drake’s “More Life”.

On top of that, seven songs from Cole’s KOD are in the top 10 of Apple Music’s most-streamed songs in a 24-hour period.

News of this streaming feat follows word that Cole’s title track “KOD” broke the opening day streaming record for Spotify; Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” previously held the record.
